Young Adult Retreat

Memorial Day Weekend, May 25th-28th, our Young Adults encourage you to mark your calendars for our next Young Adult Retreat! You are invited to join us for a weekend escape to the beautiful surroundings of Asheville, North Carolina! We plan to leave from Church Friday May 25th at 5PM and then return Monday morning! Join us as we explore awesome places such as the Pisgah National Forest, the Biltmore Estate, and potentially even take in a minor league baseball game at McCormick Field where portions of the movie “Bull Durham” was filmed! For all of our families, we encourage you to bring your children with you for the great weekend and make it a family vacation! We will dive into God’s word throughout our weekend, and be reminded of how we are the greatest masterpieces His hands have ever formed!

A Man Named Martin

The Influence and impact of Martin Luther’s life is the stuff of serious study. As a forlorn sinner feeling lost and desperate before a stern and exacting Judge, Luther desponded of all hope for eternity. But as one who came to cling to the Spirit-delivered truths of forgiveness by faith in Jesus Christ alone and the liberty believers experience by God’s grace, he rebounded to become a triumphant ambassador for the Gospel.

The Details of Luther’s life — his childhood with his parents Hans and Margaret, his university pursuits, his decision to become a monk, his protestation of Catholic practices, his voluminous and rich scholastic output, his life in hiding, and his roles as husband and father — are all considered in this study. A Man Named Martin is a fresh and explorative look at an individual who, down through the centuries, has increased in importance and vitality to the Christian Church. Join us in our conference room next to our Coffee House as we dive into this amazing study!

Effective Parenting in a Defective World

A parent’s greatest desire is to raise a child who can face anything with wisdom and confidence. But in a world of over-extended schedules, amoral messages, and incessant peer-pressure, how can you raise a confident child that follows God’s will, not the world’s? Chip Ingram’s practical tips for modeling right living, building strong bonds, and disciplining effectively will help parents bringing up Christ-centered kids who feel secure and significant no matter what comes their way!

Upcoming Servant Events

Mark 10:45 states that, “For even the Son of Man did not come to be served, but to serve, and to give His life as a ransom for many.” Jesus also said in Mark 25:35, “For I was hungry and you gave me food, I was thirsty and you gave me something to drink, I was a stranger and you welcomed me…” These and other bible verses remind us that a life of faith in Christ is not one that is simply placed upon a shelf and never used. Instead it is one that seeks to share God’s love with everyone in our community, city, and world. Our Young Adults currently seek to serve our community while we take God’s love into the world in hopes that all people would hear His voice speaking directly to them!

This Easter season, we will meet kids and families we may never see again. Let’s make sure they meet Jesus while they are with us! We will again bring Road to Resurrection to our church and community on the morning of March 24th—this 2-3 hour, family-friendly event will have your family and others talking…and walking with Jesus! Scripture from the Gospels guide families through the events surrounding Jesus’ death and resurrection. This is the perfect opportunity for us to reach out to our community during Easter. During this wonderful event, families travel the path Jesus journeyed. They’ll taste the Passover meal, visit Barabbas in his jail cell, hear a Roman’s soldier’s remorse, and join in other powerful experiences. We ask that if you are moved to help us out with this wonderful servant/outreach opportunity that you would kindly Sign Up using the link to the right, and we can’t wait to see all of you at Our Savior on March 24th!

Current Week-Day Bible Study

Experiencing God’s Presence Study

Our current Young Adult Bible Study, which repeats every other Thursday, is going through Sarah Young’s book called “Jesus Calling, ‘Leading a joy filled life’.” This is a study in the Jesus Calling Bible Study Series, where we will be encouraged to lay down our cares and spend time each day with our heavenly Father. As we follow the Lord’s instruction to “be still, and know that I am God” (Psalm 46:10), we will encounter His peace, be filled with His strength, gain a new perspective on our lives, and experience the full life that only He can provide.
