They devoted themselves to the apostles teaching and to the fellowship, to the breaking of bread, and to prayer. They continued to meet together…they broke bread in their homes and ate together…and the Lord added to their number daily those who were being saved. – Acts 2:42-47

What is a Life Group?

Life Groups are Small Groups that usually meet off campus. Life Groups offer a place to form strong friendships, grow in God’s Word and positively impact our community and the world. They vary in size, but may consist of 6 -12 members. Life Groups gather to study the Bible, enjoy fellowship, pray and care for one another in the comfort of their own homes. They meet various days and times of the week/month, each determined by the group. Life Groups typically meet for 11/2 to 2 hours. They are a place where lives can be changed as trust is built and faith grows deeper.

Why Join a Life Group?

In a Life Group, the church becomes more than a weekly meeting; it becomes who we are. Jesus’ ministry was experienced in small groups as well as large groups. Life Groups provide the opportunity for us to practice and experience Jesus’ “one another” commands from Scripture while encouraging us to live them out in our groups and in our community…..(love one another, pray for one another, be kind to one another).
Life Groups are focused on developing relationships that encourage and challenge us to commit to grow in God’s Word and to become more Christ like in character. Spiritual growth is stunted when we think that the Christian life only consists of one hour of Worship on Sunday morning. Spiritual growth happens in the context of community. In Life Groups we find a balance of acceptance, community, fellowship, accountability, Bible study, prayer, and the support and encouragement of fellow Christians.
